The Waunakee Rotary Club has several projects and events ahead, and at the Sept. 30 meeting, the members shared some of the details.

Fundraising projects in the planning are Rotary in Lights, to begin the Sunday before Thanksgiving, the White Tails event in April and the hanging basket plant sale later next spring.

Membership is looking at organizing a get-together to recognize the new members. Perhaps attendees could bring other potential new members.

The community service committee is looking for a standalone project to commemorate the village’s 150th year.

The meetings and public relations committee has speakers planned through December with just two openings that month. Let Kylie or Todd know if you have a speaker in mind.

The youth and vocational committee is looking ahead to the scholarship program. Applications from high school seniors are due April 7. Each year, the club awards four $1,500 scholarships. Other youth events are cancelled.

The international committee is planning Food for Kidz Oct. 10. A few more people are needed to sign up. It will be at the Waunakee High School Commons this year. The committee is also planning to ship leftover school supplies from Prairie Elementary to Honduras at the end of the school year.

For fellowship, the club is planning a Christmas party either Jan. 6 or 13. Let Bob Klostermann know if you have a preference for entertainment or the date.
