Janette Jordee shared a bit about herself both professionally and personally for her classification talk.
She moved to the United States from the Philippines 22 years ago, and said coming from a developing country to the most powerful country in the world with a completely different culture was very challenging.
But Janette is extremely ambitious and has four professional designations, having practiced law in the Philippines and taught at the university level.
Janette works for Rural Mutual Insurance as a subrogation specialist, negotiating Rural Mutual’s clients claims with other insurance agencies.
She showed pictures of her family, including her second husband and three sons, all of whom are Waunakee High School graduates.
Community service is nothing new to Janette. She founded Global 1nspiration, a nonprofit, and has been an international speaker.
Global 1nspiration advocates for an end to human trafficking and mental health wellness. It also helps survivors of domestic abuse, with empowering women and those with physical challenges. The organization provides scholarships and educational opportunities, as well.
An international speaker, Janette is also the past president of the Philippine-American Association of Madison.
Just days after Janette joined the club, she attended the Rotary grant writing seminar. When she visits the Philippines this summer, she will meet with the district governor there to look for opportunities for international projects.
Janette said Rotary’s 4-Way Test signs are everywhere in the Philippines, and she’s always wanted to join the club.
