Vol. 59 No. 3
Waunakee Rotary Newsletter Dec. 19, 2024
The Waunakee Rotary Club held its last meeting before the new year on Dec. 19. For the club assembly during that meeting, committee members reported back on the work that they are doing.

John Cullen of membership reported that eight new members are sporting a red badge. That committee is talking about a campaign to generate new membership and looking at what the club has done in the past.
Fellowship has a few things planned for the months ahead. Bob Klostermann said a pizza party is planned for Fran, the soccer-playing exchange student, at Waun-A-Bowl in January.
In February, a party to play the game Marble is in the works, and in May, the club may have a  Kentucky Derby party at the top floor space of the Lamphouse. There might be a lake cruise in early June, too.
The youth and vocational committee received the boots needed for Fran, and all gifts were purchased, Lori Derauf said. The school reading program at Heritage Elementary is being launched again. Volunteers meet with kids, and the kids will read to them to work on their skills. If anyone is interested, contact Jean Elvekrog.
Ken Pesik reported on community projects. Maintenance will need to be done on the trailers that house the Rotary Lights, he said.
For meetings, Kylie West said speakers are scheduled through mid March. Greeter sign-ups are full only through January, so be sure to sign up.
Happy holidays to all – see you all in the New Year.
