Waunakee Rotary Club committee have lots of projects underway, and at the Feb. 29 meeting, the committee chairs shared information about them with fellow club members.
The fellowship committee has arranged for members to tour the new Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra and MyArts building on East Washington Avenue in Madison on Tuesday, March 12, Bob Klostermann said. Two 45-minute tours are planned beginning at 4 p.m., and the members will stop at Bear and Bottle on Sherman Avenue afterwards on their way back to Waunakee.
That committee is also planning the upcoming steak fry and a boat tour this summer.
The membership committee is still discussing how to make the transition from red badge, which new members receive, to blue badge. Tabletop information sheets are also in the planning.
The youth and vocation committee reported that scholarship applications are March 15. They are looking to recruit students to attend RYLA – Rotary Youth Leadership Academy – in May and the World Affairs Seminar at Carroll College in June, Bob Arntz said.
The community service committee has several projects planned, Ken Pesik said. They include benches at the light stands at the dog park, maintenance at the Village Center Pond life vest kiosk and possibly an additional kiosk, a prairie burn at the pond, and maintenance on the lights there. Plans are also in the works for the arch at the Village Park entrance.
Kylie West is getting speakers lined up for the next meetings.

-Members received information about nominating the Business Person of the Year.
-The Easter Egg Drive-Thru event is March 23. Donations of candy or small toys are being accepted for the 900 bags that will be assembled and are due March 18. On March 19 at 4 p.m., volunteers can help pack the bags.
