Here is a little more information with regards to “Dinner with Friends”

In Rotary, Dinner with Friends (sometimes called "Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner" or "Rotary Dinner Groups") is a fellowship activity designed to strengthen connections among members. The format can vary by club, but here’s how it typically works — especially if you’re keeping it to no more than five couples:

Basic Structure

• Group Size: Usually 3–5 couples (6–10 people total) gather for one dinner. This keeps the gathering intimate and manageable.
• Hosts & Guests: One couple volunteers to host at their home (or sometimes at a restaurant). The other couples attend as guests.
• Rotation: Over time, the hosting responsibility rotates so everyone gets a chance to both host and attend as well as be assigned to different groups

How Pairings Work

• Random Assignments: Often, couples are randomly assigned into dinner groups to encourage members to get to know people outside their usual circle.
• Rotation Each Round: Each new dinner, the groups are reshuffled so you dine with different members.
• Confidential Until the Night: In some formats, guests don’t know who the other couples will be until they arrive, which adds a fun surprise element. (We could skip this and be more structured with who is hosting with time date and location)

Dinner Format

• Meal Style: The host usually provides the main course. Guests may bring appetizers, sides, or dessert to share.
• Evening Style: It’s a relaxed social evening — no business agenda, just fellowship and conversation.
• Entertainment: Hosts make it fun for everyone.
• Frequency: Many clubs do this quarterly or every couple of months.

Why "No More Than 5 Couples"?

• Keeps the group small enough for real conversation.
• Fits comfortably into most homes.
• Ensures everyone can meaningfully interact rather than splitting into side groups.

Please join us for our second Kentucky Derby Party at the top of the Lamphouse. Festivities will start at 3 PM and proceed through the race at 5:50 PM. There wil be wagering on the horses.  A Grand Hat Competition for the Ladies and Race Apparel Competition for the men. Sharp dressers will be rewarded. Burgers, brats, a side and Mint Julips will be provided. Bring your preferred bevage if you like. Please sign up so we can organize appropriately.

Fellowship will be held to help Joe Baer celebrate his new office space on Thursday May 21st.                                                                        4pm: Chamber Ribbon Cutting at Joe office 114 E Main, Suite 225  (Upstairs from Lone Girl)                                                                    4:15pm: Brief office tour     4:30pm-6pm: Light apps and rooftop access at Landing of Lone Girl. Cash Bar.                                                  6pm: Live music on the Rooftop.

Please join us for the annual end of Rotary Year "Steak" Fry at Drumlin Ridge on Wednesday evening June 24th at  5 PM. (Meal @5:45 & Ceremony @7:15)  We will thank our departing officers for their service and welcome our new officers. Rex's will again provide the steak or chicken meal. Please feel free to just attend for fellowship and beverage. I will assume you want a steak. Email me if your party's preference is chicken or no meal. Join us for a Cruise on Lake Mendota with the "Midnight Splash".  (Tuesday Evening August 4th))  Boarding will begin at 5PM and the boat will leave at 5:30 from the docks at "Skipper Buds" It is a BYOBeverage & Food Event. The Bold can wear swim apparel and dive or slide into the water. Please sign up and join us.
