The Waunakee Rotary Club got to know Hilary Pink-Budworth a little better after she gave her classification this week.
Originally from Lancaster, Hilary and her husband of 15 years, whom she met in high school, live in Waunakee with their three sons.
While Hilary may be new to Rotary, she has long been active in community service. After her father was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor in 2013, she and her family established the Madison Brain Tumor 5k run, and in the 10 years since, have raised $500,000. It is now at Warner Park.
Their family has been amazed at how many others have been affected by brain tumors, and every year they put the names of those who’ve passed away on the run t-shirt. The run is always held the Saturday after July 4th.
Hilary, her husband and kids love the outdoors, including skiing. Her husband is bow hunter, and the kids enjoy football and lacrosse,
Professionally, Hilary is an account executive at Baer Insurance, specializing in professional liability. She has a degree in finance from Edgewood High School.
Not only did Hilary share pictures of her family with the club, but chocolate candies, as well!

-President Phil Willems is back and is now healing after breaking his arm last week.
-Fellowship on Feb. 20 will be at the Lone Girl.
-Phil presented the Hero Award to Alex Welk this week for his participation in the grant management seminar and providing transportation to the exchange students. Don Tierney received an award as well for his $10,000 sponsorship of Rotary in Lights.
-April 25 is the Tri Con Convention.
-Ken Ballweg and Ken Pesik presented the final check from funds raised during Wauktobefest to the club.

-National Night Out cookout
-Senior Picnic with Sara Whitley
