The Waunakee Rotary Club met in committee during club assembly and discussed all of the projects ahead.
The community service committee is planning the Senior Picnic July 9 and National Night Out Aug. 6.
The international committee is working on the SOAR Kenya grant but wants to ensure the club has an average of $100 per member being donated to Rotary International so the Waunakee club is eligible for grants.
The youth committee is planning the going away party for Carmela and Fran for June 9.
Also, 3 students who attended the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy will speak on June 12. And, the RotarAct club is progressing.
For membership, John Cullen reported that four new “red badge” members are working their way up the blue badge. That committee is also working on marketing efforts with boosts for Facebook posts. The website should be done this summer.
Fellowship is planning the Tuesday boat outing on the Midnight Cruise on June 3. The steak fry will be at the end of the month, and Bob Klostermann asked about interest in going to a Mallards Game.
Fundraising is planning for WaunaFest and hoping each member can show up for one shift at the food tent. Also, the final designs for the arch are coming, and the club will likely begin to raise funds in July. The club may look for corporate donors.
Kylie West said club members have been helpful in suggesting speakers, and some good programs are coming up. Next week, we will hear from the scholarship award recipients.
