Waunakee Rotarians are planning a number of projects, and at the April 28 meeting, committee members reported on the work they’ve been doing for club assembly.

The fellowship committee is planning a number of activities, including the summer boat outing. They are considering a cruise aboard the Betty Lou on Thursday evening, Aug. 25, said Bob Klostermann. Bob is also looking into trips to Brewers games, but said smaller groups interested in going to a game could sign up for one of the outings through the Village Center.

Club members can again get together on Tuesday evenings during the Live from the Park series. It will run June 21-Aug. 2 this year. The series features live music at the Waunakee Village Park with food stands.

The next fellowship event will be the Steak Fry on June 29 at Drumlin Ridge Winery.

The international committee is looking for new members to join them. Lori Derauf said one of the projects she helped Bill Erickson on was the school supply collection and sorting project. Lori asked if any of the members would like to take the lead on this.

Robert Arntz reported the recipients of the 2022 Waunakee Rotary Foundation Service to Humanity Scholarship are Grace Bernards, Reese Adler, Meghan Skoug and Lawson Kuhn.

They and their parents will attend the June 2 Rotary meeting.  The scholarship recipients will briefly speak about their volunteer and community service and describe where they will be attending college.  Rotary members can ask them questions.

Lori added that three high school students will attend the RYLA conference.

The fundraising committee will begin the plant sale. Hanging baskets will be sold at Village Park hopefully next week.

Also, the club received its raffle license to begin selling WaunaFest raffle tickets. Proceeds from the raffle will help fund the solar light project at the Waunakee dog park to commemorate the club’s 50th year. Ken Pesik said the club will apply to the village for approval of the project, but an OK is expected.
