The Waunakee Rotary Club got to know one of the club’s newer members, Sally Gile a little better as she gave her classification talk at the August 10 meeting.
Sally grew up in Waukesha and comes from a close, tight-knit family, the second youngest of five kids. She attended private and parochial schools before graduating from Waukesha West.
While attending UW-Whitewater, Sally volunteered with organizations serving individuals with special needs, and she thought that might become a career path.
Also in college, she was involved in intramural sports and pledged a sorority, which led to community service opportunities.
Sally also met her husband, Chad, in college, and they were married in March of 2005.
Today, the couple have two daughters a year apart, who are very close. One is a junior and the other a sophomore at Waunakee High School, and both play lacrosse and will soon begin the tennis season.
Sally said she’s proud of the education her daughters are receiving at Waunakee High School.
She also has three dogs who make her happy and enjoys walking them every day.
Sally worked at Quality Cellular as a sales associate for 16 years, and when she left, she oversaw 12 locations. It involved a ton of travel, she said, and she found little time to spend with her family.
Chad has worked at American Family Insurance for the past 20 years in sales and IT.
In 2018, Sally left Quality Cellular and began as the office manager at Endres Manufacturing, serving as the HR director, social media manager, event coordinator and handling the accounts receivables.
The transition wasn’t easy, but Sally enjoys working for a family-owned business. She also likes getting to know the new hires as they join the company. Sally was drawn to Endres Manufacturing because of its foundation, which supports philanthropic causes. She has supported the Make a Wish Foundation and said she had family members who made a wish when their children were battling health issues. Those fulfilled wishes allowed them to take a break from a difficult time during their illnesses.
