After an overnight snowfall and with bitterly cold temperatures, the Waunakee Rotary Club meeting was somewhat sparsely attended Feb. 13. Without a speaker and only club assembly on tap, the meeting was fairly short.
Committee chairs reported on their projects during the club assembly.
For speakers and public relations, Kylie West said speakers are scheduled out through June.
Village Administrator Todd Schmidt will report on the state of the village on Feb. 27.
For community service, Bob Klostermann said the club members can attend the Brewers vs. Cubs game on opening day. Lone Girl Brewing has a bus with spots open and a tailgate. Rotarians would purchase their own tickets to the game.
Other fellowship opportunities might present themselves for the Big 10 tournament, Bob said.
For membership, Pat Durden suggested that business people invite other small business owners to a meeting and to join the club.
Linda Olson, from the international committee, said a grant management seminar is scheduled for Wednesday. Registration is online. Linda is going, but she said it would be good to have another member attend. If you need help registering, let her know.
Also, Jim Kattner reminded the club that to be eligible for grants, the club needs to have received an average of $100 per year per member in donations to the foundation.
