Waunakee Rotary Club committees reported on their projects at the May 25 meeting when club assembly was held. The following are updates delivered:
-Bob Arntz said for youth and vocational, the scholarship recipients are scheduled to attend next week to talk about their future plans. They usually bring their families, too. Also, all host families have been lined up for the youth exchange student coming from Mexico. The Rotary Youth Leadership event is planned, along with the World Affairs Seminar.

-Bob Klostermann is lining up fellowship events. If you’d like to participate in the Middleton Madison West Club’s golf outing, let Bob know. Next Tuesday’s fellowship event is at Mr. Brews at 4 p.m. Another event will likely be scheduled at Drumlin Ridge on a Wednesday, when they’re open. Other ideas for events include Brewers games, as club members can attend through the Waunakee Senior Center’s outings. Bob also asked about whether the club would prefer a Betty Lou Cruise in the summer or in the fall when the leaves are changing. Also, the club could look  into getting a table at one of the Concerts on the Square.

-Ken Pesik talked about the conceptual idea for the club’s 50th anniversary project. It would be an arch over the entrance to Village Park, where the club’s Rotary in Lights are held each year. Ken is envisioning iconic imagery as part of that metal arch. The WaunaFest raffle will help to raise funds and Endres Manufacturing is helping out with the project.

-The club is planning for Wauktoberfest, as well, where the bar will be redesigned for more serving capacity.

-The meetings and programs committee has speakers scheduled through September. One idea for a program is on ChatGPT and the use of AI.

-The membership committee is getting a list of community members and business owners to invite to join.

-For fundraising, Jim Kattner said WaunaFest raffle tickets will go on sale in mid June through July, with 1,000 tickets at $10 apiece.

-The international committee has a goal of sponsoring an international project but has not identified one yet.
