The Waunakee Rotary Club committees met during the Nov. 30 meeting in club assembly. The following are the reports from the different committees:

-For Youth and Vocational, scholarship applications are out and will be due March 15.

-The International Committee has written for a district grant application to transform a former health facility in the Philippines into a training facility for mothers. Also, the Croatians from the Rotary exchange will be in town Sept. 25-Oct. 5 and Rotarians are needed to host them or be tour guides.

-Fundraising is looking to purchase ambient lights at the Village Center and Park. The Lions Club has donated $5,000 toward the $37,000 cost, and other funds are coming in that should cover it, Phil Willems said. Also, areas are being created in the park to have pictures taken during Rotary Lights.

-Membership is developing a program to get new “red badge” members their Blue Badges.

-Meetings has guest speakers booked through February. The greeter sign-up seems to be working great. The slips Todd Schmidt provides with next week’s speaker should be given to others to invite and entice them to attend a meeting. Use this week’s to let folks know about what should be an interesting program Dec. 7 when Lori Derauf talks about her trip around the planet. If you have ideas for speakers, let Kylie West know.

-Fellowship next week will be at Athens Grill. Also, Bob Klostermann said that committee is planning a Christmas party at the end of January or early February. Let him know if you have a preference for the venue, as well, either at the library or a local restaurant’s large room.
