The Waunakee Rotary Club has a decent cash flow. That was the upshot of Treasurer Jim Kattner’s report to the club at the Oct. 11 meeting.
Members also held club assembly, with committee chairs reporting on their projects.
For fellowship, Ray Statz reminded the club that the Rotary Rustic Road Race is this Sunday, Oct. 14. There’s plenty of room for more to sign up. It will leave at noon from Trappers Turn parking lot, and you can have brunch beforehand there at 10:30 a.m. The route is laid out and includes a stop at a Frank Lloyd Wright lake house.
Bob Klostermann said impromptu fellowship opportunities will take place at Rex’s Innkeeper to watch Brewers’ playoff games.
From the international committee, Linda Olson said World Polio day is Oct. 24 to spread awareness. Food for Kidz is Oct. 21, Mick Holm reminded the club. Trips are planned to Haiti in January. Many of the meals will go to an orphanage there. Another group of Waunakee folks will travel to Kenya in January where the club has supported a school. Linda added that the One Rotary Summit is coming up and members are encouraged to attend. The Waunakee club is looked upon for ideas by other clubs, and it’s important to share those successful ideas.
The membership committee is targeting new members, Bob Pulvermacher said. Be sure to encourage people to join. If you bring a stay-at-home mom or dad next week, that person’s meal is free.
Dan Statz reported for fundraising, saying this year’s Wauktoberfest was the second best in terms of dollars raised.
Rotary Lights in on its way with sales for the brochure. The club will be looking for people to man the booth in early November.
